The guide will adapt the hikes (as far as possible) according to the weather forecast, current weather and group ability and experience.

What changes can be made by the guide?

Due to snow or other weather/group circumstances the guide may decide to adjust the itinerary and the planned hikes.

Accommodation and facilities

Where is the cabin situated?

We are going to one cabin for the duration of the tour. The cabin is located close to Nordfjordeid. We will use our own van for covering the region and will complete a range of different styles of tours from day to day. This way you get a great impression of Fjord life and nature. We might hike straight from the cabin or drive to an area where we will go for a day hike.

Can you send me a link to the cabin where we will stay?

No, unfortunately not as the cabin we utilize can not be found online and does not even have a street address.

How will the sleeping arrangements be?

The price of the tour is based on double occupancy. The bedrooms will be shared by two (sometimes three) persons (twin or bunk beds). If you have paid for single occupancy, you will have a room for yourself.

Is the cabin well equipped?

We use high standard private cabins with a shared bathroom, living room, kitchen and more importantly a nice view! The cabins are well equipped. Bed linen is provided. Please bring your own towel(s).

Is there wifi in the cabin?

Most likely yes, but we cannot guarantee it.

This depends on the offer that you got from us. Some of our tours are fully catered others not.

What kind of meals are served on this tour?

In case of the fully catered alternative:

Breakfast with bread and/or cereals. Juice, milk, coffee, tea. Everyone makes their own lunch for taking on the trip and can fill their bottles with cold or hot drinks. Dinner is a 2-course (starter or dessert, and main course). Often local food like lamb, deer, fish and chicken served with potatoes, rice or pasta and fresh vegetables. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks.

Are there shops close to where we stay?

No, not close to where we will stay. The guide has bought all the food in advance. Typically we stop at a supermarket after returning from a hike where everyone  will have an opportunity to buy snacks, soft drinks and personal items. (Not included) Note that stronger alcohol cannot be bought in a supermarket but only in a special shop called ‘vinmonopolet’, this shop has restricted opening hours (find information about bringing alcohol below).

Can I bring/buy alcohol on the tour?

Alcohol is not included in the tour however feel free to bring it yourself. Keep in mind that buying alcohol in Norway can be very expensive and the stores have limited hours for sale of alcohol. We can adjust our menu to your diet, but only if you inform us about this upon booking (we plan the menu ahead of the beginning of the tour)

After the tour

How do I travel from Nordfjordeid?

At the end of the tour we would not advise you to take the boat to Bergen, because of the timetables. We would rather advise you to take the bus to Bergen or Oslo (if this is your place of departure). Please ask us for advice.
