How does customized travel work?

Organizing your tour in Norway can be a challenge: The internet is a great resource to find inspiration but can also feel overwhelming with the overload of information. Lots of websites recommend you go to busy places, but do you really want to visit overcrowded spots, while you can easily have the same but all to yourself? Norway’s landscape is beautiful, but that same landscape makes logistics with driving and ferries challenging. Don’t worry. We’ve got your back.

We specialize in customized travel in Norway. As insiders, we love to share our knowledge and passion for Norway to create the perfect adventure vacation for you.

We want you to experience Norway off the beaten track, and take you to some of Norway’s undiscovered pearls. We initially reached out by email inquiring about one trip with modifications but Anne at Norway Adventures suggested we have a Zoom call to discuss options. During the call, she asked great questions about what we liked and didn’t on trips and was able to design a trip that fit all of our needs.

Step 2: Request your travel proposal

We promise you that we will create a tour that fits you 100%. That’s why it is important to get to know you well.

– When you fill out the ‘request travel proposal’ form we will ask you questions about:
– Who will you be traveling with?
– Are there certain activities that you definitely want to do during your tour?
– What kind of accommodation do you prefer?

It only takes four minutes to fill out the form, and brings you one step closer to your dream trip.

I would go as far to say that it would be somewhat foolish to attempt to put a trip like this together without the expertise of someone like Anne, who ensures that your interests, timeframe, and budget are expertly woven into the experience you have in mind.

Step 3: Our team will contact you

It is time to get personal. After you have filled out the request travel proposal form, one of our travel designers will reach out to you within 2-3 business days. You will receive an invitation to book a video call, or if you rather do it by phone, that is also fine.

By really getting to know you and listening to your dreams, wishes, and desires, we strive to offer you the ultimate Norway Adventure. From experience, we know that there are some famous highlights you do not want to miss, so we will of course include them in your proposal.

Customizing a tour is perfect for you if you want to maximize your (short) time in Norway, rather leave the practical details to us and want a unique, authentic experience. Or if you are traveling with children, a private group, or want to explore your own heritage.

After the call we will start working on your customized travel proposal.

Step 4: Receive a proposal for your customized tour to Norway

The proposal we will send you is a first draft and without any obligations. You can let us know what you loved or did not like about the proposal, or if you find that something is missing in the itinerary. We will also answer questions that you might have.

We will work together with you, suggest alternatives to create a specific itinerary. By this time, we can send you the final quote including prices.

As first time travelers to this country, we had a limited time to see some highlights. Her company came highly recommended by some dear friends who had also used her company to design their trip. We met over a zoom call to go over what we wanted to see and she designed a fantastic trip for us. We never imagined how much we would have missed if we had “done it ourselves.

Step 5: Book and pay

When your customized travel proposal is perfect, you can let us know that you are ready to book.

Deposit payment of 30%After you have agreed upon the trip itinerary and price, you will pay the 30% deposit. This can be paid by credit card through our secure payment gateway.

After the payment is received we will start bookingWe will book all the agreed elements of your trip, and re-confirm the booked items as soon as all the final details are set. Small differences might occur due to availability. Congratulations! You can now look forward to your dream vacation in Norway!

6 weeks before arrival pay the remaining balanceYou will receive the payment link for the remaining balance approximately 5-6 weeks before arrival. We start working on your travel details when we have received your payment.

3 weeks before arrival you will receive your travel documentsYou will receive your personalized travel guide with a very detailed day by day program with driving instructions, tips/suggestions, maps, ferry timetables, and vouchers. This will be sent by email. You will enjoy problem-free navigation and check-ins during your vacation, as a result of our planning.

Counting downNow it is only a matter of counting down the days until your arrival in beautiful Norway and the start of an unforgettable adventure.

Step 6: Welcome to Norway!

Finally the day has come: welcome to Norway.

During your trip, our office staff is available 7 days a week by phone for urgent matters.

We rented a car and Anne’s detailed itinerary including driving suggestions were perfect and made experiencing Norway easy and fun. They were always available if we needed assistance, which we rarely did.

Step 7: After your trip

Our guests regularly come back with the same feedback: That they have truly experienced authentic Norway and that exploring untouched nature felt like a dream come true. They learned lots about Norwegian culture. The personal encounters with the locals, such as owners of the hotels, city guides, during farm visits, while paddling or just talking to random people at the ferry, made a big difference.
